Clinical Supervision

Services: Clinical Supervision

CLINICAL SUPERVISION IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR COUNSELLORS AND STUDENT COUNSELLORS.

Supervision
Supervision provides a supportive space to reflect on practice, enhance skills, and maintain high standards of care, while meeting the requirements for accreditation. Our supervision sessions foster growth, self-awareness, and ethical practice, ensuring that professionals feel confident and supported in their work.

Clinical supervision for counsellors and counselling students

Clinical supervision is a structured process that supports counsellors in their professional growth and ethical practice. We offer supervision for counselling students, pre-accredited psychotherapists, and fully accredited practitioners. Our clinical supervisors are experienced professionals who are accredited with the IACP and/or IAHIP, ensuring the highest standard of guidance and support.

Supervision helps counsellors explore their work, develop new insights, and refine their skills in a safe and professional setting.

Clinical supervision requirements in Ireland

In Ireland, clinical supervision is a fundamental requirement for practising counsellors and psychotherapists. The IACP mandates that pre-accredited members must engage in a set number of supervision hours while working towards full accreditation.

Accredited therapists are also required to continue regular supervision to maintain their professional standing.
We provide supervision that aligns with these standards, ensuring that counsellors meet their accreditation requirements while receiving valuable support and guidance.

Cross-professional supervision

We also offer Cross-Professional Supervision for professionals in related caring fields, including social workers, nurses, Gardaí, coaches, and teachers.

Working in the caring professions presents unique emotional and ethical challenges, and supervision provides a confidential space to discuss these difficulties. Cross-Professional Supervision helps professionals manage self-care, maintain a healthy work-life balance, enhance productivity, and improve job satisfaction.

Our experienced supervisors provide tailored support, helping professionals navigate the complexities of their roles while maintaining personal well-being.

The role of supervision

Supervision is more than just case review; it is a space for reflection, learning, and professional support. It allows practitioners to explore challenges, discuss ethical concerns, and receive constructive feedback in a confidential and non-judgemental setting.

Supervision encourages self-care and resilience, helping professionals maintain emotional well-being while working in demanding roles. Our experienced supervisors provide insight, encouragement, and practical guidance to help professionals grow and enhance their practice.
