STEP INTO A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE SPACE TO EXPLORE YOUR FEELINGS, UNDERSTAND YOUR STRUGGLES AND DEVELOP COPING STRATEGIES TO REGAIN CONTROL OVER YOUR LIFE.

Depression Counselling
Struggling with depression or anxiety can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. These conditions can impact your daily life, making it difficult to find joy, maintain relationships, or complete simple tasks.
Counselling provides a safe and supportive space to explore your feelings, understand your struggles, and develop effective coping strategies to regain control over your life.

Recognising the symptoms of depression & anxiety

Depression and anxiety manifest in different ways, but both can have a significant impact on your emotional and physical well-being.

Depression can cause persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, fatigue, and loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can also lead to difficulty sleeping, changes in appetite, and withdrawal from loved ones.

Anxiety, on the other hand, often involves excessive worry, restlessness, a racing heart, and difficulty concentrating. It may also bring about panic attacks or a constant sense of unease.

Understanding these symptoms is the first step towards seeking support and finding relief.

When to seek help

If feelings of depression or anxiety are persistent and affecting your daily life, it may be time to seek help. It’s natural to experience occasional sadness or stress, but when these emotions become overwhelming and interfere with work, relationships, or personal well-being, professional support can be valuable.

If you’re struggling with low energy, feelings of worthlessness, panic attacks, or an ongoing sense of dread, counselling can help you develop the tools to manage your emotions.

Seeking support is not a sign of weakness—it’s a proactive step towards reclaiming your sense of self and improving your quality of life.

Counselling techniques

Our counselling approach is tailored to your unique needs, drawing on evidence-based techniques to help you manage depression and anxiety.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is commonly used to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, while mindfulness-based therapy can help you stay present and reduce overwhelming emotions.

Talking therapy provides a safe space to explore underlying issues, and solution-focused therapy helps you build resilience and set achievable goals. Your therapist will work with you to create a personalised plan that supports your journey towards emotional well-being.

Benefits of counselling for depression & anxiety

Counselling offers a structured, supportive environment to help you understand and manage your emotions. Through therapy, you can develop healthier thought patterns, improve self-esteem, and build coping strategies for dealing with stress and uncertainty.

Counselling can also help reduce the severity of symptoms, improve sleep, and restore a sense of balance in your life.

By working with a qualified therapist, you can gain the tools needed to navigate challenges, foster resilience, and regain a sense of hope and control over your future.

What to expect

We have a team of more than 20 fully qualified and accredited counsellors, each experienced in supporting individuals dealing with depression and anxiety.

Your journey will begin with an initial chat, where we take the time to understand your challenges and concerns. From there, we will carefully match you with the most suitable counsellor and schedule your first appointment.

Sessions take place in our comfortable, private counselling centre at Bath Ave, Sandymount, Dublin 4, providing a safe and supportive environment where you can express yourself freely.

The number of sessions you may need varies depending on your individual circumstances, but most people find that around six sessions are a good starting point. Some may benefit from short-term support, while others may choose longer-term therapy.
